A Coffee Bean is both a crop and a plantable seed. Coffee Beans grow and mature 10 days after being planted (and every 2 days thereafter) in either Spring or Summer. Placing 5 Coffee Beans inside a Keg will produce Coffee.

They have a rare chance to drop from Dust Sprites (about 1%). They can also be purchased from the Traveling Cart for data-sort-value="2500">Gold.png2,500g (25% chance) or data-sort-value="15"Gold.png100–1,000g (1.26% chance).

When harvested, each plant gives four beans every two days, with a small random chance for more beans.

Note that the game does not consider Coffee Bean to be a standard crop type. As a seed, its sale price does not benefit from the Tiller Profession.

Number of Harvests

Basic Fertilizer and Quality Fertilizer only affect the first bean from every harvest, leading to an average 3-7g gain per harvest. Over both seasons this adds up to 70-160g increased profit. Speed-Gro gives you one extra harvest for Coffee Beans, giving you a 60g increased profits.

Multi-Seasonal Crop

Coffee Beans may be planted in both Spring and Summer. There is no difference in their behavior in either season.

If a Coffee Bean plant (of any growth stage) is in the ground on the 28th of Spring, it will continue growing on the 1st of Summer as though nothing had changed. Fertilizer in the ground underneath a Coffee Bean plant on Spring 28 will not disappear on Summer 1.

Artisan Goods

The game does not consider Coffee to be an Artisan Good, so it does not benefit from the Artisan Profession.

In order to make Coffee, 5 Coffee Beans from one stack must be put into the Keg. It is not possible, for example, to place 3 Coffee Beans of silver quality and 2 of gold quality into a Keg, because the different quality levels are not stackable with each other, and the Keg will only accept 5 Coffee Beans at a time.

Note

One Coffee Bean planted on day 1 of Spring can turn into an entire field of profitable crops. If harvested beans are replanted immediately until the plot is filled, then the remainder is sold for 15g a piece. The following is a rough daily income average based on maximum plot size and calculations for two growing seasons:

Plot 10 - $182/day

Plot 50 - $795/day

Plot 100 - $1466/day

Plot 200 - $2658/day

Plot 500 - $5524/day

Plot 1000 - $9450/day

etc.
