Trivia

  • The ambiguous status of the tomato - fruit or vegetable - is the subject of Demetrius' Six Hearts event. Botanically speaking, there is no such thing as a vegetable, and the tomato is a fruit. 'Vegetable' is a culinary term that took on its current sense a few centuries ago. However, the fact that the tomato is used as a savory ingredient in cooking qualifies it as a vegetable in culinary terms.
