Clay is collected from either "worms" tiles (1-3 clays each), geodes (around 1 clay each), or randomly when tilling dirt with a hoe (1 clay max for each tilled square). Clay can be found both on and outside the farm, particularly when tilling at the beach or in the mines.
The only building requiring clay is the silo.
Quality Retaining Soil requires Clay as a crafting ingredient.
These clay-yielding tiles appear most frequently in Winter.
