Shane is a villager who lives in Pelican Town and is often rude and unhappy. If the player chooses to befriend him, however, his attitude toward them will start to change. He works at JojaMart most days between 9 AM and 5 PM, and after work he frequently spends his evenings in the saloon.

In the Social Status menu, Shane's outfit will change to a Joja Corporation uniform when he is at his job at Joja Mart.

The ability to marry Shane was added in version 1.1. In that update he had new updates to his schedule, dialogue and heart events as well.

Relationships

Shane lives at his aunt Marnie's ranch with his goddaughter Jas. He works at JojaMart, and Morris is his manager there.

Enter Marnie's Ranch while Shane is home.

Details

Shane is found passed out in his room, surrounded by empty beer cans. Marnie asks you to do something. You use your watering can on his head to wake him up. Marnie remarks that all he does is mope around and drink beer. Shane turns away, not wanting to address the problem. While turned he suggests that he hopes he "won't be around for very long", insinuating a desire for death. Jas overhears and runs away crying. Shane notices and feels bad.

After reaching 4 hearts with Shane, he will begin to send you gifts in the mail.

Enter Marnie's Ranch while Shane is home.

Details

You get to go inside Shane's locked bedroom at Marnie's Ranch. Inside, Shane is painting a sign that says "Fresh Eggs", and is surrounded by his flock of special blue chickens, as well as his favorite white chicken, Charlie. You see Shane alone, picking up Charlie and talking to her about his problems. Then you enter and Shane talks to you a bit about how he is trying to pass on the chicken knowledge to Jas so she can continue the tradition if he ever moves out.

Details
Shane invites you to go see the Zuzu City Tunnelers (A Gridball team) play in their stadium in Zuzu City. You see a grimy stadium with you and Shane in the stands. At some point a goal is scored and everyone is cheering. In a moment of excitement, Shane gives you a kiss... but then he feels embarrassed by it. After a pause, you go in for the full kiss and allay his fears.

Schedule

Shane works at JojaMart most days between 9 AM and 5 PM, and after work he frequently spends his evenings in the saloon.

If JojaMart is closed after you have unlocked the Community Center Shane will stay at home instead of going to work.

Regular Schedule
7:00 AM	Marnie's Ranch	Leave the ranch and walks to JojaMart.
9:00 AM	JojaMart	Arrives for his shift at JojaMart. He cannot be interacted with while at work, but can still have gifts given to him.
