Cinder Shard is a resource that can be obtained in the volcano, by mining Cinder Shard nodes with a pickaxe. It can also drop from a Magma Sprite, Magma Sparker, Magma Duggy, or False Magma Cap. Cinder Shards can also be obtained from Fish Ponds with 7+ Stingrays.

Forging

Main article: Forge

Cinder Shards are used in The Forge to combine rings, enchant tools and forge melee weapons with gemstones. 20 Cinder Shards are used to combine two rings and apply a random enchantment to a tool or weapon, while 10/15/20 are used to forge a tool for the first, second and third time, respectively.

Trading

Cinder Shards can be traded for goods and recipes at the Island Trader and the Dwarf shop in the Volcano Dungeon.

Tailoring

It is used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create Sunglasses. It can be used in dyeing, serving as an orange dye at the dye pots, located in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane.
