Mystery Box

Mystery Boxes are drop crates released by Mr. Qi. After spending 50 days in the valley or after collecting the second Prize Ticket from the billboard, the player will see a cutscene with Mr. Qi and will be informed by a pop up that Mystery Boxes can now be found.

Mystery Boxes can be cracked by Clint in the Blacksmith shop for data-sort-value="25">25g, similar to Geodes. However, unlike Geodes, they cannot be broken open using a Geode Crusher.

Reading the Book of Mysteries will increase the chances of finding Mystery Boxes by approximately 26.7%.

They can be found by digging up Artifact Spots, in Fishing Treasure Chests, by Mining, purchasing from the Calico Egg Merchant at the Desert Festival, as a reward from the Trout Derby and SquidFest festivals, as loot from killing monsters, breaking open crates in the mines, shaking or cutting down trees, or trading a Book of Mysteries with the Bookseller. There is also a rare golden variant with a different (and more valuable) loot table.

Bundles

Five Mystery Boxes are required for the Helper's Bundle on the Bulletin Board (Remixed).

Tailoring

Mystery Box is not used in any tailoring. It can be used in dyeing, serving as a blue dye at the dye pots, located in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane. It can also be used as a dark cyan dye when used in the spool of the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item in the feed.
