Magic Bait can be attached to a Fiberglass Rod or an Iridium Rod, or inserted into a Crab Pot. Fishing rods do not require bait, but fish will bite faster with bait; this specialized bait provides the ability to catch any fish from that source regardless of weather, time, or season. Night Market fish can be caught using Magic Bait in the southwest corner of the Beach. Bait is always a single-use item.

20 Magic Bait can be purchased from the shop in Qi's Walnut Room for data-sort-value="5">Qi Gem.png 5. Alternatively, the recipe can be purchased for data-sort-value="20">Qi Gem.png 20

Use

To attach magic bait to a fishing rod, open your inventory, click on the magic bait (left-click or right-click, depending on how many you want to pick up), and then right-click on the rod. To remove magic bait, right-click on the rod.

Each cast uses one piece of bait. When all bait is used up, the game pops up a notification saying "You've used your last piece of bait."

On an Xbox controller, press A on the bait to select the whole stack (or X to pick up a single one), then X to attach to the rod.

On a PS4 controller, press X on the bait to select the whole stack (or ⬜ to pick up a single one), then ⬜ to attach to the rod.

On a Nintendo Switch Controller, Press A on the bait to select the whole stack (Or Y to pick up a single one), then Y to attach to the rod.

Bait can be detached by pressing X on either Controller. (Y on Nintendo Switch)

For the mobile version, you can add bait to your fishing rod by opening your inventory, then drag the bait and drop it on top of the rod.
