The Midnight Carp is a fish that can be caught in the mountain lake and the Cindersap Forest pond during Fall and Winter late at night. It can also be caught on many of the non-standard Farm Maps: Forest, Riverland, Wilderness, and the large pond on the Four Corners Map. It can also be caught during any season in Ginger Island North and West (freshwater). It can also randomly be found at the Traveling Cart for data-sort-value="150"450–1,000g.

Midnight Carp can be caught regardless of time of day or season using Magic Bait.

Midnight Carp can be placed in a Fish Pond, where they will reproduce every 2 days. The initial pond capacity is 3 fish, but the capacity can be increased to 10 by completing two quests. The primary output is violet Midnight Carp Roe. However, River Jelly is also possible starting at population 7.

Tailoring

Midnight Carp can be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the Fishing Vest. It can be used in dyeing, serving as a purple dye at the dye pots located in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane. It can also be used as an iridium dye when used in the spool of the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item in the feed.

Quests

• Item Delivery: One Midnight Carp may be randomly requested in Fall or Winter at the "Help Wanted" board outside Pierre's General Store for a reward of data-sort-value="450">450g and 150 Friendship points.
• Aquatic Overpopulation: Demetrius may request 10 Midnight Carp to be caught in Fall at the Special Orders board outside the Mayor's Manor for a reward of gold equivalent to selling the fish and the Farm Computer recipe.
