Wild Bait can be crafted from a recipe obtained from Linus after triggering his 4-heart cutscene. (To trigger the cutscene, earn 4 hearts of friendship with Linus, then enter the Mountain between 8pm and 12am on a sunny day.)

Wild Bait cannot be used with the Bamboo Pole. Only the Fiberglass Rod (unlocked at Fishing level 2) or the Iridium Rod (unlocked at Fishing level 6) can use bait.

Use

To attach the bait to your rod, left-click the bait in your backpack (or right-click to pick up a single one), then right-click the rod.

On an Xbox or PS4 controller, press A or X respectively on the bait to select the whole stack (or X/⬜ to pick up a single one), then X or ⬜ to attach to the rod.

Only one bait will be consumed per use. The remaining bait can be detached by right-clicking the rod in your backpack or pressing X/⬜ on the Controller.

Effect

Using Wild Bait with your fishing rod reduces the delay before a nibble by 62.5%.
